Participants will be able to do the following:

  • Gain and understanding of the principles of persuasion strategies
  • Discriminate the various stages of communication necessary in order to be understood
  • Recognise the various games played by people who are in authority or have to respond to authority
  • Evaluate your own capacity to maintain dignity and self control when under pressure
  • Be able to apply the various processes learnt to their working environment
  • Develop a common framework of consistency in communication

This in an action interaction based workshop

  • Critical Elements – personal preferences, client relationships and defences, gender differences
  • Challenges to Personal Balance – defence mechanisms, scene setting and reframing, communication modes
  • Credibility – levels of credibility, creating credibility, strategy plan
  • Safety – emotional and psychological safety, stress effects on communication, caring burnout and a sense of failure
  • Set New Communication Targets – set up peer support strategies, developing a future personal strategy
